Queen Mother - 70th Anniversary Exhibit

Photographic Services Agency 85-1324-R5-25

The Provincial Archives is the custodian for over one million photographs pertaining to Saskatchewan. One of the most popular photograph collections held by the Archives is the Photographic Services Agency collection. The Agency was a provincial government entity in operation from the early 1950s to 1996 and was responsible for taking photographs of Saskatchewan and its people for use by the provincial government. Some of the photographs were staged and some were candid, but all provide an interesting look at life in Saskatchewan in the 20th century. This photograph shows some very delighted ladies meeting the Queen Mother in Regina in July 1985.
