Accessing Government Records

Restricted government records acquired by the Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan may be viewed by the original (or successor) ministry, Crown Corporation or agency for research or reference purposes.  Government records will NO LONGER leave the custody of the Provincial Archives. This ensures that the integrity of the material in the PAS permanent collection is maintained, as well as limits the potential loss or damage/changes to the material.

Authorized personnel may view the material onsite at the PAS Reading Rooms in Saskatoon and Regina during regular reference hours.

Requests are to be made using the Control and Request Forms, which are available from the Appraisal and Acquisition Unit or the Reference Services Unit.

If you have any questions about the authorization process, please contact the Appraisal and Acquisition unit at (306) 787-6985 or cholmes@archives.gov.sk.ca.
